darkness lingers...
darkness lingers
that time of
year
most
the heat
has taken
toll
as it is
in my world
keeping
the boat
afloat
harbored
in every
tide
rich
black
earthen mud
a thick paste
akin
to uni
essence
of the sea
gonads
of the spiny
urchin
Japanese delicacy
raw
w/seaweed rice
wrapped
from
the waters
to the hills
the fires
the open air prisons
middle wealth
retired
waiting
as we all do
in the wonder
of the sun
September brings
6am
a hint
of day's beginning
a land apart
from luxury yachts
spinnakers
and jibs
pirates
and coast guards
road agents
thieves
generations
of formidable
families
accumulating
time
in the shape
of forgotten
tales
rape
pillage
even bake sales
bones
hide
in the closets
of everyday
corruptions
as is
the nature
of freedom
liberty
and being
first
on the
hilltop
ridge
we are
after all
simply
apex predators
struggling
the elements
as any would
mostly civilized
friendly
family
sharing
the wide open
under cover
as means
to survive
another flame
another
cup
of java
more lines
of foolery
to sing
in the harmony
of treasured
luxury
soaking
in the cast iron
under
just another day
as darkness
lingers
